eCall or (emergency-call system) is a term created by the European Union and Auto Manufacturers to describe a computer chip monitoring device being installed in nearly all consumer vehicles telematic boxes (black box) produced after 2016.

These new ecall telematic boxes turn cars into connected / monitored (eCall monitored) cars over the eCall Network set to launch March 31st, 2018.

Below is a picture of a actual eCall Chip

By law all cars sold after year 2018 inside of the European Union under threat of eCall Law, must have a eCall monitoring device installed

Automotive manufacturers are removing the ability to drive without being monitored for the 2018 production.
